Our Inspiration
Trip—Route 1’s playful mascot—lives in a world inspired by vintage road maps. It’s a place where friendly characters wave from roadside diners, citrus stands, and beach piers; where every state line feels like a story break, and every city and town has its own cameo. It’s a world where the lively, illustrated maps people collected from gas stations and travel bureaus—are full of little stories that made you want to pull over and explore.
Those classic Gulf maps were printed from the 1930s through the 1970s. Route 1 takes that spirit and brings it forward: same charm, fresh lens. We’re updating the places, styles, and stories with an inclusive, engaging approach—celebrating real communities, welcoming everyone into the adventure, and inviting local pride to shine. Trip leads the way, pointing out what’s timeless and what’s new, so the map in your hands (or on your tee shirt or phone case) feels both familiar and distinctly today.
